Omam's Stewart Cowley on the domino effect of a Greek exit

by Frank Talbot May 22, 2012 at 09:28

As fears of a Greek exit from the Euro mount, we interview Stewart Cowley , head of fixed interest at Old Mutual Asset Managers, and manager of the Old Mutual Global Strategic Bond .

The fund invests across the bond spectrum and is second in Citywire's Bond Global peer group over five years.

The fund's flexibility leaves Cowley well placed to give a view on the impact that a potential fragmentation or outright breakup of the Euro would have on both government debt and currency markets.

Highlights:-

  • The European domino effect if Greece fails
  • Bulking up his US dollar exposure at the expense of the Euro
  • Selling corporate bond exposure
  • Warning over the inflation a new Drachma could bring
