GAM is planning to launch a UK equity income fund for Adrian Gosden, former manager of the £6.4 billion Artemis Income fund.

Gosden has joined GAM after leaving Artemis last summer, having run the Income fund for nearly 13 years alongside Adrian Frost.

He boasted a strong record on the fund, which over the 10 years to his departure had nearly doubled investors' money, placing it in the top third of funds in Citywire's UK equity Income sector over that period.

Gosden also ran the £1.8 billion St James's Place UK & International Income fund alongside Frost, and the £1.1 billion Artemis High Income fund, with co-manager Alex Ralph.

GAM said Gosden would work closely with its existing UK and pan-European equity teams.

Chief executive Alexander S. Friedman said: 'Adrian Gosden is one of the UK’s most highly regarded equity income managers.’

‘We are excited to welcome such a talented investor to the group and to further diversify our offering of specialised products to cater to clients’ needs.
