Schroders has hired Julia Ho from fixed income specialist Western Asset Management who will join its global macro team.
First reported by Asian Investor, Schroders confirmed to Citywire Global that the veteran manager, who has 23 years’ investment experience, was joining them as a senior portfolio manager.
Ho follows in the footsteps of her former colleague Rajeev De Mello, Western Asset’s former head of Asian investments, who joined Schroders back in June as head of its Asia ex-Australasia fixed income team.
However, unlike De Mello who is based in Schroders’ Singapore office, Ho has joined the firm’s London team where she reports to its head of global macro Bob Jolly.
Following De Mello's departure from Western Asset, Ho and former colleague Keith Gartner, head of developing markets, took over his responsibilities until his replacement, Chia-Liang Lian, was announced in July last year.
Prior to joining Western Asset Management in 2003, Ho worked for Rothschild Asset Management’s Singapore office as a manager and director for eight years.
